Yikes. Are You Losing Your Hair?
Although
we tend to think of it as a guy thing, million of women have
unexpected hair loss. But some experts believe that dramatically
thinning hair--the fallout (literally) from stress, poor nutrition,
an underlying medical condition, harsh hair treatments, or heredity,
among other causes--is as common in women as it is in men.
Roughly half of all women over age 40 experience excessive hair
loss. And one study estimates that it occurs in 75 percent of women
over age 65. If you fear that your hair may be thinning
significantly, keep reading to learn more about hair loss in
women--what causes it, what it looks like, and what to do about it...

Stress lines stressing you out?
No matter how much we stress about fine lines and wrinkles, we will
never be able to wipe them out completely! We can buy lotions,
ointments, and creams to toughen the skin in those areas but no matter
what, the results aren't permanent. It's an expensive process that can
cycle for the rest of our lives. Since we already know that over the
counter products are just temporary relief from our "battle?with fine
lines and that it is costly to purchase these products every other
month, what is a more effective way to tone this process down a bit so
that we can maintain a much smoother and "wrinkle-free?face for a
longer period of time?
Well, there is always a cosmetic procedure called facelifts! Of course
that is a procedure that would probably have been thought of later in
life. Facelifts are also generally for lifting area's that have been
sagged by age and should be thought of carefully. What'll help those
stress lines on our foreheads and those fine lines that appear every
time we squint? Botox. Botox is a cosmetic procedure done by cosmetic
surgeons as well as dermatologist.
Now, we all are already familiar with Botox and that it's been a really
popular procedure done all over the world, but have YOU thought of using
Botox yourself? Botox is a safe procedure that the FDA approved of back
in the late 80's as a cosmetic procedure that can be used to help
temporarily ease these fine lines and wrinkles. What Botox basically is,
is a bacteria called Clostridium botulinum. Surgeons use to use the
bacteria specifically to numb surrounding muscles of an area that was
operated on. Now a days, doctors use Botox primarily for cosmetics. The
procedure for Botox is basically injecting it into the targeted areas so
that it suppresses the muscles that are used to help make facial
expression lines. These results are guaranteed and can last 4-6 months.
Remember that the answers are out there, we just have to use our
recourses wisely. There is no need to stress over these stress lines
anymore.
How To Eliminate Blackheads
Unfortunately, blackheads are
something most of us experience thanks to the skin's constant sebum
production and cell turnover. But there are a few things you can do.
Here's How:
-
Alpha hydroxy acids are also a good
first line of defense. They gently
exfoliate skin to prevent cells from building up and clogging pores.
-
There have been mixed reviews on pore
strips. Some love them while
others have complained about losing a strip of skin. If you have
sensitive
skin it might be better to avoid these strips.
-
Head off to the drugstore and look for
salicylic acid cleanser. It will
temporarily remove surface oil and pore-clogging debris.
-
Really stubborn blackheads are best
removed by a dermatologist and
yes... it usually hurts.
-
Retin-A is another defense that you
might want to consider. A little stronger than the hydroxy acids, it
loosens the blackheads while speeding up cell turnover. That means that
skin cells have less of a chance to clog pores.
-
There are lots of home remedies to try.
Here are a few... Mix equal
parts of lime juice, almond oil and glycerine and apply to the face.
-
Beat an egg white until stiff. Add 1 tsp
honey and then apply to area with a cotton swab. Leave for 1/2 hour and
then rinse with warm water.
Tips:
Did you know that "Pore Packs" have been offered in Japan for quite some
time. For some reason, they have not been offered in the US or
Canada.Pore strips have had better results removing blackheads from
cheeks rather than the nose. There are lots of accounts that state that
these little strips are addicting... especially for men. They love to
check out what has been pulled out.
Choosing The Right Skin Care
Products
There are so many products for skin out there it's hard to choose the
right one. The key is to go with naturally occurring minerals that are
used in scrubs, not the man made chemicals that can cause skin
irritation and allergic reactions. Many salons can provide a specialized
skin regimen created by one of their certified aestheticians. This
customized skin regimen can take as little as five minutes in the
morning and evening.
Premature Aging And The Sun
Factor
The first factor in aging is sun exposure. It can do the most damage to
your skin. It is estimated that up to 90% of facial aging is due to the
damaging effects of ultra-violet radiation. Even if you don't plan to be
in the sun, use a sun block every day that blocks both UVA and UVB rays
(also know as "broad-spectrum" sun block) because surprisingly, harmful
sunrays penetrate through fog, clouds, and even window glass.
